Action for Youth & Women Development (AYWD) Uganda

OUR MISSION:

To empower widows & their children in poor communities to be self-reliant through health, education, livelihood & advocacy interventions.

Action for Youth and Women Development Uganda (AYWD) is a local non-profit established in 2012 as a community-based organization, but now registered as a not-for-profit organization, with the goal of improving the livelihoods of poor communities. Those communities include the women, boys, girls, youth, some men and other vulnerable groups of people including; widows, people affected with HIV/AIDs, people living with disabilities and the elderly.

Muwayire Henry, Founder and Executive Director of AYWD, developed a passion for helping marginalized and vulnerable families as a child. Appointed as a Global Goodwill Ambassador in 2018 www.GlobalGoodwillAmbassasors.org, he feels that God brought a miracle to appreciate his work and spread the word about the difference that AYWD is making in the lives of Ugandan widows and their children.
